As I continue to feature bloggers who inspire me, I get re-introduced to them and gain a newfound gratitude for them. These bloggers or individuals I have come across in my zero journey that have given me something; a recipe, thought, positive comment, or some kind of inspiration or motivation. In the sense of environmental optimism, I want to focus on the positive change happening across the globe in environmental awareness, education, and activism. I want to commend those who act positive change because they are the hope that we need. Every bit we do together will make the difference.
Introducing Allison from Allie’s Adventures in the Kitchen, Crafting, and the Kootenays. She inspires me more for personal reasons than environmental, so this post will be slightly different than the rest. This girl and I go way back to when I immigrated to Canada! She was a kind little eight year old helping out the non-English speaking eight year old ginger ME who was blindsided by all the changes coming at me in a new country. We were friends for many years, then drifted into different social groups in our teenage years, but reconnected years later through our career, and many common interests and goals.
She is the strongest woman I know. The bravest. She is smart, creative, resourceful, and inspiring. She has taught me so much, and together we get re-inspired on our own journeys as teachers, mothers, and environmentalists.
Her blog focuses mostly on her amazing crafting abilities. She is getting more adept at sewing and a few weeks ago gave me these amazing onesie-extensions for my little; no need for new ones if I can extend the life of these ones! Better still – they were made of the softest organic flannel. Cloth diapers and all things eco-baby is a common topic of ours.
She also lets me inspire her. She took part in the Plastic Free July Challenge, and always notifies me when she has “changed one more thing” for the good of the planet, like using her cloth bags for shopping, choosing reusables, and opting for glass over plastic. She is an amazing woman – go see what she is up to on her blog!

Some beautiful crafts on her blog, that’s for sure! Thx for sharing, Nadine!
